OVC Programs

PURPLE(Children's charity concert)

Every year as part of our organizations programs and projects tailored for vulnerable children, we host an Annual Charity Concert tagged “PURPLE”. The goal of this exciting program and fun event organized for ALL children irrespective of status is to Integrate children from different backgrounds and status: orphans and vulnerable children, less privileged, children with disabilities and other children.

FAECARE Education Support

FAECARE Education support program is a partial scholarship program offered to vulnerable children that should be in school but are unable to due to lack of finances, increased vulnerability and child status. Our intervention on assessment is to engage a school within the community where the child is resident and take on school fees in partnership with the caregiver, as well as school supplies like, school bags, flasks, shoes, stationery, exercise books and text books, depending on the needs.

FAECARE Kids Club

FAECARE Kids Club is our monthly program aimed at bringing children in communities together to teach values through fun learning approach and interaction in areas such as Civic, Arts, Health, Life skills etc. FAECARE kid’s club centers: Oginigba, Mgbesilaru, Mgbaraja, Rumukwurushi,Rumunduru and Rumuomasi

Reach Out One Touch (Vitamin A, Deworming & Multivitamins)

Our vitamin A and Deworming program is targeted at children in communities, to curb the challenge of micro-nutrient deficiency. We also provide Mulit Mineral Supplementation (MMS) to pregnant and lactating women in communities. This program is in partnership with Vitamin Angels Nigeria.

Youth Programs

Project SMART

Project Smart is our in-school youth outreach program were we go to secondary schools to speak with and interact with youths on value adding topics and subjects, the purpose is to speak and engage in-school youths, provide information and learning’s in making smart goals and developing a value system that would guide them in right decision making as regarding their education and lifestyle choices.

Skills Training Program

Skills Training Program now referred to as Teens Vocational Skills Training Program targeted at Youths and Orphans and Vulnerable children is a FAECARE Program that is tailored towards engaging and empowering young people who have completed Secondary Schools and are in transition to possible higher education or work. Vocational and Digital skills have been the main focus.

Girls Rock Conference

In commemoration of the United Nations International Day of the Girl Child, FAECARE hosts girls from 10- 17 years in a one day interactive and girl focused conference, all about the girl child.

Teens Summit

A summit that brings secondary school students from different schools for great addresses, speeches and seminars on topics from mentors, coaches and role models. Schools also make presentations to win an award for a community or social cause project to encourage volunteerism and the spirit of giving back.

Volunteering

The activities of our volunteers are crucial to our work and to the successful implementation of every program and project. They enhance the work by bringing valuable skills, experiences and energy. In FAECARE our volunteering experience aims to mold young people to begin to understand the concept of selflessness, giving back, and true altruism. They also have opportunities to build their capacities in various volunteer training programs.

PWD Programs

Hope Again Initiative :
Empowering the woman with disabilities

Hope Again Initiative is our community based vocational training and mentorship program to improve the quality of life of women with disabilities by building, equipping and empowering them with a vocational skill and building capacity. We took our cue from two of the Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 4- Inclusive and equitable quality education and promote life-long learning opportunities for all and SDG8- Promoting sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all. The project’s key activities includes; registration and skill typing of women with disability identified and enrolled into the program, seminars, vocational training, mentoring and coaching.

Hope Again Initiative Plus:
Empowering Persons with Disabilities

In the course of empowerment focused on only women with disabilities, it became evident that we could through this initiative also reach out to some men with disabilities, hence the program Hope Again Initiative Plus.

Media Advocacy

At FAECARE Foundation we promote Disability Rights and have relevant conversations about disability with this program. We mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities through media advocacy. Our current radio program Disability Rights Radio Program and our Podcast are part of our efforts in Media Advocacy.

Disability Rights Initiative Project (DRIP)

Disability Rights Initiative Project is to build the capacity of Persons with Disabilities to advocate for the protection and advancement of the rights of Persons with disabilities, advocate, raise awareness and sensitize the general public on current statutory provisions of the laws and the rights of persons with disabilities. With the aim of Promoting and Advancing Disability Rights through Awareness-raising to the public to push towards reducing inequalities that Persons with Disabilities including Women with Disabilities face.

Coping Skills Counselling

Disability coping strategies are offered through calls and guidelines for any Person with Disabilities in need of a chat or questions.

Community Programs & Special Projects

Reach-Out Community Program

Reach Out community programs are focused on bringing free basic medical and welfare support services to communities within communities. Services provided usually include: Free Medical Consultations, Vitamin A Supplementation, Deworming, Multivitamin, Malaria testing, welfare (clothing).
