ACCESSIBILITY (DRIPA) funded by Disability Rights Fund, carried out a one day training on Accessibility Audit Assessment.
With the support of a Technician Assistant Expert the very detailed training had the following objectives:
- Improve Knowledge of Participants on Understanding Disability, Disability Rights and Accessibility Build capacity of participants to be part of research team for DRIPa.
- Provide research assistants with skills/ tools to conduct a comprehensive audit in Port Harcourt.
In 8 sessions during the rigorous training, participants were fully engaged on various topics using different teaching methods, including role play and exercises.
The essence of the training was to ensure that tools developed to carry out the accessibility audit assessment were tested and well understood by the team.
The training was well received and a huge success and is instrumental to carrying out a comprehensive accessibility audit assessment in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. A key activity in pushing for accessibility of the physical environment in Rivers State.
