Happy New Year!
I welcome you to another year of impact at FAECARE Foundation. The year 2024 for us is a symbolic year because it marks the turn of decade in our organization, which was founded in 2013.
When we had the vision to launch an NGO, we had no idea how it would happen, all we could do was trust the one who gave the vision and rely on him to take it over and do amazing things. And so, in 2013, saddled with a dream, we reached out to people, and that dream became the reality which is today Freky Andrew-Essien Care Foundation well known all the world over, as, FAECARE Foundation. A nonprofit organization that reaches out to vulnerable groups within communities.
The year 2023, was a particularly exciting one for us, not only did we mark the 10th edition of our children’s charity concert “PURPLE” which was simply “WOW”, we also took on new projects.
Advancing the Rights of Persons with Disabilities is an important part of our mandate as an organization, enshrined in our constitution as part of our objectives.
Last year we concluded a DRF funded project tagged “Disability Rights Initiative Project” (DRIP) with goal to advance the rights of PWDs in Rivers State. On the project among other activities carried out, we carried out two research on knowledge, awareness, attitude and practice as it applies to Persons with Disabilities and Residents of Port Harcourt without Disabilities. We also built the capacity of PWDs on knowing their rights and strategically advocating for them.
The second edition of our Girls Rock Conference was such a Pink Delight, with 100 teen girls from different FAECARE Kids Club Centers, Girls from Compassionate Center and Girls from Damsel Foundation. We ended the year with 16 Days of intense activism in a PIND Foundation sponsored project, that commenced on the 25th of November (International Day of Elimination of violence against women and girls) and the 10th of December.

We look forward to marking many more decades. On behalf of the Board of Trustees of FAECARE Foundation, we thank you for being a part of reaching out and touching lives, these past decade, your confidence in our vision and mission is inspiring and encouraging. Having marked our 10th Anniversary in 2023, we fill really positive for the next 10 years and beyond. As we start the year 2024 strong, we ask you to join us as volunteers, partners and friends. Our vision is clear and remains focused on improving the lives of our target vulnerable groups.
